We are pleased that Marilyn Manson’s gig in Brighton, the first of a series of UK gigs in October / November has been cancelled!
The cancellation was a response to objections from local politicians (MP Siân Berry & Chloë Goldsmith), local organisations, the collaborative efforts of No Stage for Abusers and Male Allies Challenging Sexism and many individuals who supported us.
Together with No Stage for Abusers, had been urging the Brighton Centre to cancel the performance for a while. Then, on 9 June MP Siân Berry sent an open letter to Brighton and Hove City Council with campaigners, local organisations and Green councillors to ask for the booking to be cancelled.
Whilst we are overjoyed with this news, there is more work to be done!

Note: Following the cancellation of the gig, objectors received many derogatory and abusive messages from Manson supporters and ‘free speech advocates’ referring to those who campaigned against Manson’s gig as ‘fascists’, ‘bitches’, ‘virgins’, ‘gays’, ‘pedophiles’ and more.
As a result we decided to close comments / block commenters on a number of our social media posts.
