Where has February gone? For such a short month it definitely felt very busy!

EDUCATION FOR WOMEN’S LIBERATION CONFERENCE

On 5 February David & Evan attended the Education for Women’s Liberation conference in London. At the conference Evan attended a Sex Matters Workshop on ‘Sex and Gender in Schools: What parents can do’, whilst David went to a workshop on the ‘Conflict of legal rights, how to balance them in practice’. LET WOMEN SPEAK RALLY – GLASGOW

Alfie attended the Standing for Women rally in Glasgow on 5 February and filmed the entire event. You can find the footage from the rally here.

PETITIONING

This month we signed Level Up’s petition demanding that IPSO, the largest press governing body in the UK, enforces strike rules on reporting fatal domestic abuse.

We also petitioned Dominic Raab (Deputy Prime Minister, Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice) to ask him to make violent men more visible and accountable and to ensure that police, prison and probation services pro-actively identify, track, monitor and manage serial perpetrators.

Lastly we also signed Nordic Model Now‘s petition to UK Government representatives calling to change sexist police culture by banning police from watching porn and paying for sex. You can find the petition and sign it here.

PRO-FEMINIST DISCUSSION GROUP: JANICE RAYMOND – THE TRANSSEXUAL EMPIRE

For this month’s discussion group, held on 20 February, we read Janice Raymond‘s, The Transsexual Empire. You can read a write-up of our thoughts on the book here.

However, the next subject this group will discuss is the special edition of The Radical Notion on Gender Critical Disputes (7pm Thursday 16 March), which is available for FREE HERE. If you would like to join this discussion or our book group, please email us.

MEN’S DISCUSSION GROUP ON PORNOGRAPHY

On 27 February Alfie attended a Men’s Discussion Group hosted by Daniel Principe from Australia. This was the inaugural meeting, which was attended mainly by men from the UK and Europe. The group had held open, honest and personal discussions about pornography. Daniel is looking to continue the group and discussions surrounding pornography and the next meeting of the group has been proposed for 27 March at 8.30pm (GMT).
