Due to personal circumstances of speakers we’re having to make some last minute changes to the #MACS22 programme.
MACS volunteer Toby is no longer able to host the ‘Anti-feminist Myth-busting‘ workshop on Saturday. With such short notice, it’s highly unlikely we can source another speaker. Currently we are aiming for other volunteers to present his workshop or replace it with another activity.
Jimmy Bangash is unfortunately no longer able to co-present the talk ‘Islamic Misogyny and Iranian Women‘ with Maryam Namazie. She will now be joined by Fariborz Pooya. Fariborz took part in 1978-79 revolution. After moving to the UK in 1979 he studied economics and politics at Oxford Brookes and Birkbeck College, UoL. He founded the Iranian Secular Society, was one of the founding members of the Council of Ex-Muslims of Britain and writes and comments on politics and secularism. He also co-hosts and produces a weekly political-social TV magazine, Bread and Roses TV in Persian and English. The talk has been renamed ‘Iran’s Women’s Revolution‘.
